Classes provide a plant for you to grow at home.

Founder of Touch of Green Exotics and holding a degree in Horticulture Production, she has spent over 20 years working in the tropical greenhouse at Menne Nursery. As an avid aroid collector with a strong interest in how plants function within larger ecosystems Lisa is looking forward to spreading her knowledge within the reptile community and beyond.
With years of hands on experience from houseplants, terrariums, reptiles to amphibians, her work now focuses on plants that don’t just survive, but thrive in these environments. She combines professional horticultural expertise with real-world application and ongoing experimentation.

Experience the dynamic world of bioactive ecosystems in this comprehensive demonstration class. Participants will gain insights into the principles of bioactive setups, including the importance of beneficial microorganisms, plant selection, and habitat creation. The class will feature a live demonstration of setting up a bioactive terrarium or vivarium, showcasing the integration of plants, soil, and fauna. Attendees will learn about maintenance practices that support a thriving bioactive environment, including feeding schedules and environmental monitoring. This class is ideal for anyone looking to create a self-sustaining ecosystem at home.

This hands-on class focuses on creating stunning terrariums and other unique container gardens, including Kokedama (Japanese moss balls). Participants will learn about the materials needed, suitable plants, and the art of layering for aesthetic appeal. The course will cover the care of these miniature ecosystems, including humidity control, light requirements, and watering techniques. By the end of the session, students will have crafted their own terrarium or Kokedama to take home, along with the knowledge to create more in the future.
